It is with great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude we announce the passing of our kind, caring and brave Father, Poppy, Uncle, and friend Denis Joseph Trainor, 76, of Vancouver British Columbia. Surrounded by his children, he passed away on March 3,2023 after a long battle with Progressive supranuclear palsy.
Denis was born on June 30, 1946, to Albert and Mary Trainor in Port Kirwan Newfoundland. He married his loving wife Anna in 1969 and they moved to BC in 1970. Anne and Denis began to grow their family in BC but always kept a piece of their heart in Newfoundland. They had 5 children Joanne, Barry, Albert, Stephanie, and Denise.
Denis, known as Dinny by friends and family back home, was a kind a gentle soul and was always there to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered as devout catholic, with a kind and generous heart, a man with the strongest work ethic and a determination like no other.
He was a devoted and hardworking father to 5 children often coaching and managing sports teams and ensuring his children were raised with faith.
Denis was predeceased by his loving wife Anna (Brazil) Trainor, Sister in Law’s Phyllis (Brazil) Brown, Clo (Willcott) Brazil and Brother-in-Law John Brazil.
Denis will forever be remembered by his precious children Joanne, Barry, Albert (Mayumi), Stephanie (Jonathan), Denise (Derek), Shylee, Teigan, Aemon and his beautiful grandchildren that were the light of his life, Lennox and Georgia Randazzo. He will missed by his brother Joseph Trainor and brother and sister in law’s Mary (Tom), Martin (Jose), Tom and his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends in BC and Newfoundland.
Prayers will be held on Friday March 10th at 8:30 PM at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 555 Slocan Street Vancouver BC. The funeral will follow on Saturday March 11th at 1pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 555 Slocan Street Vancouver BC.
