Anthony Brittain (Tony) Robinson, RPF 242 (retired), passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the age of 97.
He was born in Vernon, BC, in 1927, and spent his early years in what was then a suburb of Kelowna, and finished his grade school education at Magee High School in Vancouver. He graduated from UBC in 1952 with a degree in Forestry, and worked in the industry for three years before joining the Forest Service. After 10 years in the Inventory Division, he was transferred to the Vancouver District office, where he served in several roles as a management forester. In 1971, he was promoted to the position of Forester in charge of Management for the Prince Rupert Forest District. Two years later he was promoted to Assistant District Forester for the Cariboo District. Three years later, he returned to Victoria as Forester in charge of the Management division. One last promotion took him to Kamloops in 1979, where he served as Regional Manager until 1987.
In retirement, he and his wife enjoyed travel and golf together, and he wrote several books for amusement. Tony is survived by two children, three grand children and four great grandchildren. In addition, he was blessed with two step children who kept in touch with him after his wife passed away.
