Amelia De Vita

With sorrowful hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Amelia on March 24, 2012, at the age of 84. She was born in Santa Rufina, Rieti, Italy and lived in Vancouver since 1950. Amelia was generous and loving, deeply devoted to her family, always willing to serve others and passionate in maintaining a beautiful home life and garden alongside her husband Armando throughout their 61 years of marriage. She was dearly cherished and will be lovingly remembered by Armando, son George and daughter-in-law Pat De Vita, daughter Lina and son-in-law Lui Buffone, grandchildren Michael, Daniel, Christopher, Robert, Alexandra and Jonathan, brother Fulvio Giraldi(Maria), brother-in-law Ralph De Vita(Mary), sister-in-law Carol Perrella(Victor), many nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Seconda and Amedeo Gabriele and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Michelina and Frank De Vita in Canada as well as her parents Santa and Oreste Giraldi and many siblings in Italy. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 30 at 1:30 pm at St Jude’s Catholic Church, 3078 Renfrew Street, Vancouver, B.C. Entombment will follow at Ocean View Abbey Mausoleum, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society (B.C.) would be greatly appreciated.
