Emy Schlegelmich, a Bullhead City resident for more than 20 years passed away on 4/24/25 due to a natural cause. She was 80 + years old. She is survived by her only living sibling in California, Pat. Emy immigrated to the United States many years ago and started working at Hi shear corporation, an aerospace branch company based in Torrance. From there, she met the love of her life, a well-rounded mechanic and a loving husband as she described, Edward Schlegelmilch. Together, they spend out of town on their days off and drove as far as to Canada. Few years later, the couple left Simi Valley, California and decided to move to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Emy continued to work and later her retired husband joined with her to work in Laughlin, Nevada. Upon her husband’s death, Emy permanently settled in Bullhead City, Arizona and worked part time past retirement. Though she had no biological children, Emy managed to live her life to the fullest independently even after her husband’s passing. She likes to go places for food, shopping and play poker and slot machines. She often talked about her childhood memory, her family, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and had visited them out of State on few occasions. Her welcoming and cheerful personality made her gained many friends through family and mostly from work. She can crack a joke and speaks her mind in a straightforward manner. Her radiant smile made her eyes disappear and her laughter was contagious.
Emy was a good cook and liked to invite friends over on early days. She lived alone yet there was no room in her refrigerator and pantry. It was always full! She liked the company of close family and friends and kept in close contact with her childhood best friend, Maria in Canada. Emy is sweet according to the staff at Angels Touch and Canyon Home Care Hospice. She will surely be missed! For sure, she’s smiling up there as she joined her husband, parents and siblings in eternity!
