Susie Bishop Jones

She was born December 21, 1922 in Robertson County the oldest daughter of E.T. and Ruth (Hancock) Bishop. She retired from Cargill Feed in Houston, and was a member of Christ’s Way Baptist Church in Bryan. Susie was a devoted mother, mother-in-law, sister and most of all a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.

Susie is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Barbara Marie Jones; two sisters, Jacqueline Bishop Clauson and Gladys Bishop Martin; three brothers, Floyd, Herbert and Jesse Frank Bishop; two brothers-in-law, Warren Clauson and Collin Martin.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Kenny Dickerson of Bryan; grandson and wife, Brian and Tashia Dickerson of Bryan; granddaughter and husband, Tammy and Doug Miller of Bryan; most beloved great-granddaughters, Cierra and Maci Dickerson, Madison and Hannah Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Patsy Bishop of Wimberley; sisters-in-law, Louise Bishop of Baytown, Laverne Bishop of Richards, Martha Bishop of Denton and Jackie Adams of Barbers Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26 at Christ’s Way Baptist Church, 3885 Copperfield Drive, Bryan, Texas with Mike Curry and Larry Reinecke officiating. Interment will follow at Steep Hollow Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
