Doyle Wayne Cooper passed away March 20th, 2022, at 79 years old peacefully in his home. His memorial service will be held Friday, March 25 at 3pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel 1515 S College Ave Bryan, TX 77801.
Coop was born January 1, 1943, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Curtis and Betty Lou Cooper. After graduating Pauls Valley High School in Oklahoma, like the hard-working man he was, he went straight to work. He found his calling when starting in the oilfield industry at Dowell Chemical in 1966. He continued in the industry until retiring from Sub Surface Tools December 24th, 2016. He enjoyed all things music, roping, golfing and most of all being with his family on the water. He was proud of his Native American heritage as a member of the Chickasaw Nation. Until his last day you could find Coop sitting on his front porch, waving at anyone that passed by, with his cocktail, his wife Rita and Twister.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Cooper and his faithful companion Twister; sister, Carol “Sugie” Armstrong and husband Jim of Oklahoma; brother, Tom Nabors and wife Sheila, of Oklahoma; his children, Curtis Cooper of Lehi, UT, Christel Cooper of College Station, TX, Angela Schroeder and husband Ryan of Anderson, TX, Nicole Morgan and husband Joe of Fort Worth, TX, John Christy of Anderson, TX; grandchildren, Erick, Marselena, Cole, Angelo, Christian, Ryan Grace, Rylee, Bristol, Madison, Connor, Nick and extended family and friends.
