Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Wheelock Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
Dorothy was born on May 8, 1919 in Robertson County near Wheelock. She attended the Wheelock schools, and graduated from Franklin High School in 1936. She married Kenneth Kurtzman in December 1945. Dorothy worked for Hughes Tool Company, Celanese Chemical Company and others while she lived in Houston.
Around 1985 she relocated to Bryan in order to be closer to her family. She ended her career at St. Joseph Hospital at the age of 72.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Hatswell; her brothers, Reginald and Homer Ray Spiller and their spouses; and her parents, Andrew and Annie Bell Spiller.
She is survived by her grandson, Gary Hatswell; great-grandson, Alex Diaz; sister, Estelle Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
