Willis Leonard Williams

Willis Leonard Williams, 74, of Townsend, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 6-8PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2:00 in the afternoon at Townsend Baptist Church with Rev. Gene McDuffy and Rev. Danny Stillwell officiating. Burial will follow at Gardener Poppell Cemetery.

Pallbearers include: Keith Whitten, Buddy Whitten, Keith Blocker, Keith Williams, Artie Anderson and Carl Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers are the men of Townsend Baptist Church.

Willis was born April 9, 1941 in Townsend to the late Stafford Kenneth Williams and Jessie Aldridge Williams. He was a lifelong resident of Townsend, and became a member of Townsend Baptist Church where he enjoyed the fellowship. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a hard worker.

Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his previous wife: Margaret Whitten Williams.

Survivors include his wife: Libby Williams of Townsend; his children: Teresa Adams (Kevin), Redonya Williams, Thomas Williams (Beth), Marlene Harrell (Ricky), Buddy Whitten (Denisea), Scotty Whitten, Sheila Train and Randy Poppell; his sister: Shearien Thornton (Robert); his brother: Kenny Williams (Pat); eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
