Willard “Bill” Francis White, 92 died January 12, 2023 at home with loving family. Bill was born to Florence and Delmas White on August 21, 1930 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Survived by: his wife of 71 years, Mary Alice; children: Judy (Allyn) Watterson-Robb and David (Kimberly) White, Granddaughter: Chelsea (Prince) Barrera; Great-Grandson: Blake; his sister Becky Dunn as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Florida State University graduate, Bill served twenty two years in the United States Navy, part of the Hurricane Hunter team at NAS Jacksonville and retired from Duval County School system. He educated youth in life skills by teaching mechanical trades at Westside Skills Center (now Frank H. Peterson Academies). He traveled the world and positively impacted many lives.
Bill never truly retired as he enjoyed helping friends and neighbors, golfing and deer hunting. A dedicated member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Orange Park, Florida since 1967. He was a chairman of the board and organized the construction of their first educational building. Bill also led a local Boy Scouts of America group for many years at Calvary.
No formal services will be held. The family will receive friends and family at home to intimately celebrate his life.
