Thomas Patrick Kelleher, 76, of Saint Simons Island, Georgia entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. A gathering will be held 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.. Saturday, Sept. 24. 2016 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave, Brunswick, GA.
Tom was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 3, 1940 the son of the late Maurice Kelleher and the late Isabelle F. Haugh Huber. He was a United States Army veteran and served his country with honors while stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He later retired from United Airlines after thirty-four years of employment. After his retirement, he moved to Saint Simons Island to enjoy his retirement. Tom became a long time member of the Golden Isles Track Club and serve as Co-Vice President for numerous years. He was also an avid sports enthusiast, always cheering on his Chicago Cubs and the Georgia Bulldogs. He will be remembered as a kind, good hearted gentleman and will be missed by his family and friends.
Tom is survived by his sisters, Katherine Kelleher of Flossmoor, IL and Frances Pitzer of Schaumburg, IL; long- time friend and companion, Dalma R. Dickens of Saint Simons Island, GA; two nieces, Sheryl Logan and her fiancé, Chuck Parker of Tallahassee, FL and Danielle Pitzer of Schaumburg, IL; a great niece, Shay Brandon of Indianapolis. IN; two great nephews, Devon Brown of Indianapolis, IN and Rowdy Warren of Pensacola, FL; his aunt Carol Haugh of Evergreen Park, IL. Several cousins also survive.
