Left to cherish his memories are the love of his life and wife of 43 years, Diane Davis, son Tommy Davis (Jessica), daughter Leah Seymour (Will), Matthew Davis (Katie), adored grandsons Logan (9) and Jack (2), loving sister Ginny (Tom), niece Cathy, and nephew Paul (Stephanie) and his furry four-legged best friend Cooper (8). He is preceded in death by his parents Stewart and Ethel Davis.
Tom was born in Tampa, FL and a graduate of H. B. Plant High School and later earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of South Florida.
Tom was a dedicated public servant spending 39 years in law enforcement. He started his career as a Pinellas County Deputy Sheriff in Tampa, FL. After eight years he transitioned to federal service as Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). During his 25 years as a Special Agent, Tom served as a criminal investigator, a fixed and rotary wing pilot and firearms instructor. He closed out his illustrious law enforcement career as an instructor for the Department of Defense (DOD) and Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC).
Tom was an avid waterman; he loved kayaking, fishing, spending time on his boat and building fishing rods. He also loved grilling, traveling, wood working, competitive shooting, going to church and simply being with his family and friends. Tom’s sense of humor and kindness will be greatly missed by family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the medical staff at Southeast Georgia Health System Hospital who took such special care of Tom. They would also like to thank Pastor Drew Thompson and Associate Pastor Kory Engram of Union City Church.
At Tom’s request a memorial service will be planned at later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org in honor of Tom.
