Tamara Kay Kirk, a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, at the age of 67. Tamara was preceded in death by her father, Vance Nordby; her mother, Bernadine Nordby; and her sister, Saundra Nordby Lee (Dick). She is survived by her husband, James Kirk; her son, Ian Kirk (Rachel); stepchildren, Kathy Burdette, Doug Perkins, and Scott Kirk (Allison); and her siblings, Larry V. Nordby (Amy) and Marilyn Kuhn (Brad). She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, as well as many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Tamara was a respected Human Resources Director with a Master’s degree from the University of Colorado. She had a deep love for the beach and the ocean, and her passion for life’s simple joys was reflected in her vibrant personality. Her kindness, compassion, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Tamara’s devotion to her family, her strong faith, and her warm, welcoming nature were evident in every aspect of her life. She was a woman of remarkable strength, grace, and heart. Tamara’s memory will live on through the love she shared with those closest to her.
A devout member of the Catholic church, Tamara was a faithful part of St. Williams Catholic Church on Saint Simons Island, GA. A funeral mass will be held there on November 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., a reception will follow the mass in the parish hall.
