Shawn Dewayne Scott

Shawn Scott, age 61, of Brunswick, GA, passed away peacefully on Oct 7, 2023. During his battle with cancer, he fought a mighty fight, and never gave up. He was a big man at 6’2”. His heart was bigger. He will be missed.

Shawn was a huge fan of the Florida Gators football team and could tell you anything you asked him about their history. He loved college football. Go Gators!

He enjoyed the family tradition of back-yard oyster roasts with friends. A great many times were had in the backyard.

He loved his family and his grandbabies, his dogs and cats, and his flowers.

Shawn is survived by his partner, Shannon O’Conner of Brunswick, daughter Lucille (Lucy) Scott of Brunswick, sister, Sherry Scott (Gerald) of Atlanta, niece Briar O’Steen of Old Town, FL, grandchildren, Taylor, and Amelia Rose of Brunswick and great -nieces, Aurora and Catalaya of Old Town, Fl.

Shawn is preceded in death by his parents Lindsey and Lucille Scott, his brother Phillip Scott, and his sister Linda Scott-Aleksun.

A graveside memorial for family and friends will take place at the Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick GA. The date and time will be announced later.
