Phillip Steven Mosley

Phillip Steven Mosley, affectionately known as Steve, was born on June 9, 1953, and passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024. He leaves a legacy of kindness, love, and adventure that touched the lives of all who knew him.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Terry Goodbread, whom he married on October 6, 2022. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, setting the world ablaze with their love and companionship.

Terry fondly remembers Steve as a kind, gentle, and loving man who showered her with affection for three and a half beautiful years. He embraced Terry's family as his own, spreading warmth and love wherever he went.

He was the proud father of Sara Ann Mosley Englert and the cherished grandfather of Jade Arya Drury and Payton Easton Mosley. Steve also leaves behind eleven step-grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with his presence and love.

Steve was one of five siblings born to Jackson Mosley and Bonnie Walden Mosley. He is survived by his sisters Joanna Mosley Solock, Brenda Mosley Howell, and Judie Mosley Wallace. He is reunited in spirit with his sister, Vernell Mosley O’Neal, and his brother, Milton H. (Bud) Mosley. Steve leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including seven nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Steve served his country with honor as a specialist fourth-class radio mechanic in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1977, stationed with the 1st Armored Division in Hohenfels, Germany. His outstanding performance earned him several Certificates of Excellent Achievement and left a lasting impression on his comrades.

Educated at Brunswick High School and Brunswick Junior College, Steve valued learning and continued to expand his knowledge throughout his life. He was known for his quick wit, iron will, and indomitable spirit.

Education was a cornerstone of Steve's life, instilling in him a lifelong love for learning. His quick wit, iron will, and indomitable spirit endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Steve retired as a superintendent from Seaboard Construction Company, where he specialized in heavy equipment and road construction. He was dedicated to his work and earned the respect of colleagues and peers alike.

A man of many passions, Steve was deeply involved in the sport of rugby. He was a charter member of The New Jerusalem Rugby Club, later known as the Golden Isles Rugby Club, The Hammerheads. His expertise as a winger and later as a coach left a lasting impact on the sport.

Steve was also an avid outdoorsman, finding solace in hunting, fishing, and kayaking. He traversed the Okefenokee Swamp and explored countless rivers in Georgia and Florida, always seeking adventure off the beaten path.

Above all, Steve will be remembered for his unwavering integrity, boundless generosity, and steadfast support for those he held dear. He possessed a wisdom that transcended words, offering guidance and comfort to all who sought his counsel. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, his legacy of love and kindness will echo through eternity.

In the words of his grandson Payton, "If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it," encapsulating the practical wisdom and unwavering spirit that defined Steve's approach to life.

While Steve's physical presence may be missed, his spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who were touched by his love. Rest in peace, dear Steve. Your memory will be cherished eternally.

Funeral arrangements are as follows: A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on February 16, 2024, at Lighthouse Church, 126 Goodtown Drive, Brunswick, GA 31525. Visitation will commence at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetic Association or the American Cancer Society, honoring Steve's compassionate spirit and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
