Mary Martha Blalock

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Mary Martha Blalock, age 91, passed away on May 30th after a long illness. She will be missed by her surviving children: Caryn Wideman of San Antonio, Texas; Jim Crowe of Stockbridge, Georgia; Tracy Bulostin of Sea Island, Georgia; and Connie Hays of Asheville, North Carolina; and by grandchildren, Chiara Maldonado, Christina Law, Victoria Bulostin, Michael Bulostin, Ashley Freuler, Kelly Crowe , Max Hays and Ruth Hays. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren: Dahla Myers, Gavin Myers, Elohi, Law, Kai Ginardi, Ocea Maldonado, Nakoa Maldonado, Ra’isle Madonado, Miles Frueler, Charlie Frueler, Porter Freuler and Rhodes Crowe. She is preceded in death by her husband Edgar Blalock Sr.

Mary Martha had a long full life, living in many places in the U.S. but over the last five decades in the Atlanta /Jonesboro area. For the past 15 years she has split her time between Asheville, North Carolina and Sea Island, Georgia. She was very active in various churches where she lived, and contributed much to ministries like “The Samaritan’s Purse” and “The Billy Graham Association” among others. She was a faithful friend and prayer warrior for many. Her faith was very strong and a big part of her life and she shared it freely. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, generous and giving to all of her family, and she will live on in all our hearts.

A graveside service will be held at Jonesboro City Cemetery in Jonesboro, Georgia at 12:00 noon on Saturday June 4th, followed by a celebration of her life over lunch at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Stockbridge, Georgia.
