Martha Jean Cormican

Martha Jean Smith Cormican, of Brunswick, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at the age of 81. She was the daughter of the late John and the late Mary Smith. She was also preceded by her husband, James E. Cormican and a sister, Sarah Thomas.

Martha was a member of the 1958 class of Glynn Academy. A member of the American Auxiliary Unit 9, retired from Administration with Glynn County and a member of the Darien Presbyterian Church. Martha enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed playing card games. She was a loving and caring lady with a generous heart. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, John Cormican, James Cormican Jr., and Daniel Cormican Sr.; her brother, Jim Smith; and a sister, Betty Hipps. Fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of Life service will be held Friday, December 3, 2021, 10:00 a.m., at the American Legion Post 9. You are cordially invited to join the family in their celebration of Martha’s life.
