John Leonard Reddick, 89, of Brunswick passed away Monday September 6, 2010 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm. Wednesday September 8, 2010 at the Emanuel United Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Barnhardt officiating.
Mr. Reddick was a lifelong native of Glynn County, born May 18, 1921 to the late Myrtle Harris Reddick and the late Richard J. Reddick. He was a commercial net maker and was also employed by Fisherman’s Oil and Supply. He was also employed by the Department of Natural Resources as a Captain of the Research Vessel from which he retired. Mr. Reddick was an avid fisherman and a member of the Emanuel United Methodist Church.
In addition to Mr. Reddick’s parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Hazel M. Reddick, his brother Stanford Reddick, a sister Evelyn Howard, and Royce Q. Boatright
He is survived by his children Joe L. Hale and wife Delores, F. A. Hale and wife Wilma, Kay Moseley and husband Hoyt., Deborah Boatright, Chris Hale, and Mike Hale and wife Charlene, a sister Louise Hull, twenty – two grandchildren, thirty one great-grandchildren, seven great- great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family request in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Emanuel United Methodist Church, 245 Ratcliff Rd. Brunswick, GA. 31523, or Charity of Donor’s choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home and Oglethorpe Crematorium in Brunswick, GA.
