Jesse Robert Jones Sr.

Robert Jones, Sr. walked through the eternal gate into the waiting arms of his loving wife Glenda Sweat Jones (Married October 31, 1954); “Papa’s darling,” Frances Victoria Jones; sisters Betty and Ann; brothers Eldon and Perry; Mother Jessie Lilian Jones and Father Eldon Jones on September 28, 2023.

As the old song goes “…what a day of rejoicing that will be…”

A humble man of Christ (member of College Place United Methodist Church), Devoted Husband, Father, Grand-father and friend.

He leaves behind a son, Jesse Robert Jones, Jr. (Ruby) of Brunswick, grand-daughter Jessica Ann Jones of Bradenton Florida; Sister-in-law Peggy Turner of McRae Ga; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Retired from the Georgia Dept of Transportation as Maintenance Engineer, Unit # 512, he spent many hours on area highways where he also went by the CB Handle “Yellowdot”.

He was Past Master, of Ocean Lodge #214 F & AM (2002); long-time member of Crisco Hunting Club and Cabbage Bluff Hunting Club.

Born Easter Sunday, April 12, 1936 in Blackshear Georgia, he attended Blackshear High School where as a 120-pound offensive lineman with a leather helmet, served as Captain of the Blackshear Tigers football team.

As a founding Officer of the Brunswick High Pirate Foundation, Inc., he was an active supporter of the Pirates.

Visitation will be at Edo Miller Funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Monday October 2, 2023 with service also at Edo Miller Chapel at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 3, 2023 officiated by Rev. Don Davis.
