Jack Julius Sullivan

Jack was born November 23, 1924 in Appling County, Georgia the son of the late William B. Sullivan and the late Malviney “Viney” Moody Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Martha Moore Sullivan and a daughter Edna Sullivan; a sister, Helen Sullivan Varnedoe and his brother, William B. Sullivan Jr.

Jack served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a WWII veteran. After his honorable discharge, he moved to Brunswick, Georgia and married the love of his life, Martha Moore. He was a retired Builder’s Consultant with Georgia Natural Gas after thirty-eight years of faithful employment. Jack also was a member of the Lions Club. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

Left to cherish Jack’s memories are his two daughters, Patricia “Patti” Moxley (Danny) and Julie Sullivan both of Brunswick, GA; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a special niece, Greta Varnedoe Turner. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

Jack enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed planting a large vegetable garden. He took pride in sharing his vegetables with his friends and neighbors. He enjoyed sports and was a football and tennis fan. He also liked to read his newspaper and travel. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His family and friends will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.

The family will receive friends between 1:00 – 2:00 PM Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 2:00 Thursday, December 6, 2018 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The burial will follow the service in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
