Herbert Miller, Jr., better known as Herb and known to his sisters as “Herbie”, left his life behind on November 30, 2023. A native of Glynn County, pretty much everyone in the County and beyond who knew Herb loved him for his wit and charm. That wit and charm helped him find, romance and marry the love of his life Lisa Young Miller. Together they built a life full of love with their beautiful kids Lanie and Cam, and their grandchild Lyla.
Herb grew up on East Beach, having settled there after having spent the first decade of his life living on many Air Force bases and traveling the world with his family. After graduating from Glynn Academy, his love of photography led him to the job of photographer for The Brunswick News for several years. He attended The University of Georgia, obtained his degree, and then joined a successful United States Senatorial campaign, then turned his sights to south Florida to build a successful telecommunications company which is where he met Lisa. Herb spent the last two decades with his family in Glynn County and once again befriended hundreds of people who have supported Herb and his family through their love and prayers, and I know they all have their own stories to tell about him with smiles on their faces.
Herb is survived by his daughter Leilana Diane Miller, his son Cameron Zachery Miller, his granddaughter Lyla Lynne Miller. His sisters; Druanne Miller Van Dora (Tash), Robin Gale Miller and Jane Miller Dulaney and nieces and nephews; Jeremiah Van Dora, Danielle Lewis, Anna Catherine Beerman, and Tash Miller Van Dora, a bunch of beautiful great nieces and nephews, and many beloved cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lisa Young Miller, his mother Charlotte Gale Miller and father Major Herbert Miller.
A grave side memorial service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Palmetto Cemetery.
