Brin was born in Atlanta, Ga in 1967 and attended The Lovett School. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. degree in History. He was proud to be a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, where he made many of his most-treasured lifelong friendships. After college, Brin moved back to Atlanta, where he met his best friend and forever love, Pagent. He began his career in real estate as a Senior Associate broker with the Trammel Crow Company. Brin and his family were blessed to move to St. Simons Island in 2004. He was an Associate Broker with Sea Island Properties and was one of the top producers for the past 19 years. He built his business on relationships and trust.
Brin had an incredible love for the outdoors and shared his passion and knowledge for hunting and fishing with his friends and family, including many of Gil and Anna’s friends. He was also a proud American and passionate about those who fought to protect our country. Brin had a warm spirit and a happiness that was contagious. Brin was steadfast in his love for the Lord and could talk about his faith with anyone. He brought comfort and support to many people through prayer and scripture. The most important thing to Brin was spending quality time with his family. They will always be his greatest joy.
Brin is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Pagent Murphy Meredith and his two greatest blessings: his son Gilbert Brinson Meredith, III, and daughter Anna Murphy Meredith. He also leaves behind his parents, Gil and Bonnie Meredith, and in-laws, Wayne and Evelyn Murphy. He will be greatly missed by his sister Morgan Meredith Tjepkema and her husband Wes, as well as sister-in-law Paige Murphy Lee and her husband Walton, and brother-in-law Patrick Wayne Murphy and his wife Stacy. He was greatly loved by his nieces and nephews: Spencer Lee, Murphy Lee, Elizabeth Lee, Madeline Murphy, Mallory Murphy, Hampton Murphy, Meredith Tjepkema, and Warner Tjepkema.
There will be a celebration of Brin’s life on Friday, October 4 at the St. Simons Community Church at 2:00pm. A private family burial will be held afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to the St. Simons Community Church.
