Clifford Dale Clendenen, 72, of Nahunta, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 12, 2013in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Leon Guest, Rev. Bobby Moore, and Jeff Guest, officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Park Cemetery. Anthony Taylor, Tony Griffis, Chuck Dixon, Lester Walker, David Clendenen, and Rob Morrell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Antonio Moran and fellow workers from The Brunswick News.
Born July 20, 1940 in Kane, Illinois to the late Albert H. and Stella Mae Clendenen, he was a Veteran of The United States Navy. He retired from General Electric after 32 years of service. He worked the Brunswick News for nine years. He had been a resident of Brantley County for 15 years. Mr. Clendenen was a God-fearing man who took great pleasure in helping others. He was a man of great faith and whenever you were around him, you knew he loved his God and you. Mr. Clendenen was an avid woodworker and enjoyed fishing, golfing and the outdoors. Mr. Clendenen was preceded was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Lorenda Guest Clendenen, daughters, Bonnie Lee Walker (Les) of Nahunta, Rene’ Griffis, of Waynesville, Roberta Taylor of Louisville, KY,; three sons, Jacob Clendenen of Nahunta, Jeff Clendenen of Conneticut, and John Mark Grooms of Waynesville, Nine grandchildren, Anthony Taylor, Kellci Taylor and Kayla Typrowicz of Louisville, KY; Brandi Dixon (Chuck) of Brunswick, and T.J. Griffis of Waynesville, nine great grandchildren, Alyssa, Kaleigh, Christian, Aubrey, Lillian, Tyler, Annabelle, Cadance and Ava, two brothers, Bob Clendenen (Judy), Bill Clendenen (Glenita), one sister, Barbara Rice (Ed) all of Illinois, and a host of nieces and nephews.
