Charlie Smith

Charlie Smith, 40, of Townsend passed away unexpected Wednesday May 12, 2010 at her residence. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Benjy Varnell officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery in St. Simons Island, GA. Serving active pallbearers will be Richard Pittman, Adam Cook, Michael Barns, Brian Bissell, John Taylor, and Brian Stewart. Honorary pallbearers are Stephen Biletzskov, Ben Mauney, Michael Rowe, Chris Hilliard, James Stewart, and Richard O. Pittman, Al Shiver, Shaune Choudhari, Jeremy McGuire.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA.

Charlie was born June 19, 1969 in Albany, Georgia. She had been a resident of Glynn County for thirty- five years and had resided in McIntosh County the past year. She attended Glynn Academy, and was employed by B&M Auto Center in St. Simons Island for fifteen years as a secretary. Charlie was an avid Snoopy collector and enjoyed putting puzzles together.

Her father John Covington, two grandmother’s Hazel McKoon and Louise Collins, precedes Charlie in death.

Survivors include her mother Linda Taylor Biletzskov and husband Joe of Dandridge, TN husband Jeff Hunt of Townsend, GA daughter Jessica Pittman and husband Richard of Waynesville, GA son Brandon Smith of Townsend, GA sister Darby Covington and husband Adam of Townsend, GA nephew Christopher Hilliard of Townsend, GA three step-brothers Michael Biletzskov and wife Jackie of Darien, GA, Mark Biletzskov of Elkton, FL. and Stephen Biletzskov of Brunswick, GA, three step-sisters Linda Stewart and husband James of Brunswick, GA, Diane Stewart and husband Brian of Brunswick, GA and Debra Pless and husband Tracy of Statesboro, GA, Godson Victor Barnes of Brunswick, GA, parents-in- laws Ben and Gail Mauney of Brunswick, GA, two sisters-in-laws Robin Rowe and husband Michael of Hortense, GA, and Jenny Dixon of Brunswick, GA. several aunts and uncles, and several nieces and nephews.
