She moved with her parents to England in the late 1960’s and spent time living and traveling around Europe. In the mid 1970’s after a brief stint in California, she relocated to Jekyll Isl., where her parents had retired.

She was a skilled artist and interior decorator as well. Her most notable works were The Greyfield Inn on Cumberland Island, The Old Edwards Inn and Spa, and Highlands Inn, both in Highlands, N.C., and numerous homes on Sea Island and St. Simons.
Survivors include a daughter, Jessica W. Holloway-Bates and husband William Alexander, and a granddaughter, Adaline Ruth Bates.
Carol had a great affection for her pets, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia. Memorials may also be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles. Edo Miller and Sons has charge of arrangements. www.edomillerandsons.com
