Betty Jackson. of Blythe Island, Ga., passed away Friday the 28th of July, 2017 while underneath the care of Hospice of the Golden isles, at the age 89. She is a lifelong native of Blythe Island, born the 28th of September 1927 to Louise Wiggins Bodden.
Betty was employed with the Glynn County Court System for eight years as Deputy Clerk of Superior Court. She is a member of Blythe Island Baptist Church, and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver.
Betty is preceded in death by her mother Louise Wiggins Bodden, as well as her husband Ralph Vernon Jackson, Sr,, and her brother Lionel Bodden. She is survived by three sons, Ralph Vernon Jackson, Jr. (Beth), Larry W. Jackson (Debbie), and Randall F. Jackson (Gail), all of Blythe Island, GA; sister Margaret Gressman of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren; three great – grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hospice of the Golden Isles, and Addington Place for their loving care and support.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six until eight o'clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 1st of August 2017, in the Brunswick – McIntosh Room at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave., Brunswick.
A funeral service is to be conducted eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 2nd of August 2017 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, where Dr. Mike Cordle is to officiate. Interment will follow in a funeral cortege to Palmetto Cemetery, 3412 Ross Rd. in Brunswick. Serving active pallbearers will be Jason Jackson, A.J. Jackson, Cameron Jackson, Bruce Fendig, Jack Fendig, and Terry Wells
The family has requested that in lieu of customary remembrances, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1629 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, Ga. 31525.
