Mrs. Bryant was a native of Brooklet, Georgia. She was a former resident of Brunswick before moving to Wilmington, N.C., and had just recently moved back to Brunswick. She was a member of the Wilmington Bible Chapel and was a former member of the McKendree United Methodist Church in Brunswick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Effie and Frank Woodcock, her husbands, Edwin Ward Vaughan, Samuel Lamar Bryant, a son, Edwin Ward Vaughan, Jr., a granddaughter, Heidi Vaughan, a son-in-law, Leslie Smith, sisters, Ruby Lee Pierce, Edna Mae Phillips, Pearl Levison and two dear friends, Wilda Allison and Marcella Roberts.
Survivors are her four daughters, Sandra Lee Vicent (Al) and Barbara Ann Smith both of Brunswick, Samesa Bryant Goodson (Harold) of Bolivia, N.C. and Melinda Lamar McGrail (Michael) of Perrysburg, OH., daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Vaughan of Danielville, Ga., grandchildren, Amanda Lee Baugher of Brunswick, Roger Wayne Pearce (Lisa) of Greenville, S.C., Edwin Ward Vaughan, III. (Dawn) of Colbert, Ga., Aliciabeth Marie Everett of Alma, Ga., Laura Strom (Eddie)of Brunswick, Deborah Perugini (Andrew) of Waverly, Ga., Leslie Little (Larry) of Hortence, Ga., David Lamar Nester of Perrysburg, OH., Robert Bryant James (Keyra)Wilmington, N.C., Samuel Bryant Goodson of Raleigh, N.C, Harold Z. Goodson, III of Alexis, N.C., David Pearce Goodson of Wilmington, N.C, great grandchildren, Heidi Lee Lightfoot of Brunswick, James Michael Pearce of, Cassandra Joy Pearce both of Greensville, S.C., Alissa Kellerson of Colbert, Ga., Devon Graves and Chase Everett both of California,, Jason Strom of Jesup, Ga., Chelsea Smith, Haylie Smith, Jaimey Smith, William Smith, Landen Little all of Hortense, Ga., Allison Perugini, Nicholas Perugini both of Waverly, Ga., Emma Bryant James, Alice Lynn James both of Wilmington, N.C., great great grandchildren, Alexia Lee Gibson, Gracie Lee Lightfoot both of Brunswick, and a dear friend Gladys Batson, who was like her sister, of Wilmington, N.C. and her beloved cat and devoted companion, Sammie.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 5 O'clock Wednesday 9/8/10 in the Chapel of the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Calder Kenney officiating. Her request was to be cremated.
The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 4:30 to 5:00 PM Wednesday. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, Ga., 31520.
