Ruben Was born in Palo Alto, Texas . Raised in Lopeno, Texas served in Army in Germany, where he met his wife of 50 years Margaret Recher. Upon returning, Mr. Lopez attended Texas A & I Universty, where he majored in agriculture and minored in elementary education. Employed with B.I.S.D for 34 years, Mr. Lopez Attended Faith Presbysterian Church, where he was an elder. Avid sports fan who loved his Atros , Cowboys and Celtics. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Josefa Serna and Dagoberto Lopez; wife Margarete Recher Lopez; daughters Carmen Margarte and Susan Dagmar; sisters Eusebia Elizondo and Emma De La Garza; brothers Dagoberto Lopez and Rene Lopez.
His is survived by his sons Ruben (Rosie)Lopez from La Feria,Texas, Ronald ( Betty) Lopez and Randy (Rhea); seven grandchildren and thirdteen great-granchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1pm to 9pm with a prayer service at 5pm on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
A chapel service will be held at 10am on Monday, December 13, 2010 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena.
Military honors will be conducted American Legend Post 43.
Interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
