Brownsville, TX- Rolando Trevino Alanis, Sr., son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, cousin, uncle and friend entered into eternal rest on Friday, the 26th of August 2022 in the comfort of his Brownsville residence surrounded by his loving family. He was seventy-two years of age. Rolando was born in H. Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico on December 7, 1949, son of the late +Mr. Samuel Trevino Sr. and Mrs. Reyes Alanis-Trevino.
He was a man of God, loving, hardworking, prudent and wise. He worked for 27 years for the Brownsville Independent School District as a Plumber until his retirement in 2013. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, and barbequing with his son and sons in law, enjoyed morning coffee with his retired friends, going on cruises with family and always caring and visiting his elderly mother.
Rolando is preceded in death by his father Samuel Trevino Sr., his father-in-law Nestor Torres Sr., his brothers Omar and Horacio Trevino Alanis, his sister-in-law Irma R. Trevino, his nephews Nestor Torres III, Carlos Ramon, Christopher Garcia and Manuel Trevino, and great-niece BreAna Esquivel.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Selestina “Sally” Trevino, his mother Reyes A. Trevino, his mother-in-law Bertha Torres, his son Rolando Trevino Jr., daughters Sonia (Freddy Jr.) Villarreal and Sandra (Sergio) Gonzalez and his four beloved grandchildren Cynthia, Freddy III, Sergio, and Sofia. He is also survived by his siblings Samuel Jr. (Clarita) Trevino, Irma Trevino, and Mary (Alfredo) De la Fuente, his sisters in law Lupita Trevino, Sarita Trevino, Sylvia (+Ricardo) Esquivel, Sulema (+Jaime) Vidal, Sandra Gallegos, Belinda Garcia, and Selia (Jose) Peña, his brothers in law Nestor Jr. (Maria) Torres, Noe Torres, Noel (Victoria) Torres, his aunt Sara A. Sosa, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 beginning at 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at the Chapel of Peace at Del Angel Funeral Home.
Visitation will continue on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM in the Chapel of Peace. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at St. Luke Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Drive, Brownsville, Texas followed by his burial at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
