Rita G. Alvarado

Rita worked at Lincoln Park School for 27 years; she loved working with children and teachers. She was loved by everyone. Rita G. Alvarado was the daughter of Guadalupe Garza and Rosa Coronado Garza.

Mrs. Alvarado is preceded in death by her father Guadalupe Garza and mother Rosa Coronado Garza; five brothers, Guadalupe Garza, Carlos Garza, Macario Garza, Victor Garza and Jose Garza; her sisters Maria Garza Moreno and Micaela Garza; her daughter Rosa Zuniga and one-great-grandchild.

Rita is survived by her sister Herminia Garza; her brother Cecilio C. Garza; her children, Luis (Elsa) Alvarado of Garland, Tx., Maria (Miguel) Munoz of Dallas, Tx., Graciela( Abel) Moreno, Estela Alvarado, Celia Pizaña and Rita Moreno all of them of Brownsville, Tx.; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Alvarado will begin from 12 noon until 9 p.m., on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m.

A Church Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Iglesia Presbiteriana San Pablo at 2604 Southmost Blvd in Brownsville, Tx., with a committal Service to follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.

The family wants to thank Pastor David Coello, Dr. Ricardo Adames, Brownsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Greater Valley Hospice.

Serving as pallbearers will be Oscar Rodriguez Jr., Jorge A. Treviño, Jacob Pizaña, Benjamin Zuñiga, Secundino Zuñiga Jr., and Abel Moreno Jr.
