She was a very loving & caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Not only to her immediate family, but to her loving neighborhood. A very strong women of faith & member of Church of Christ The King. Her passion was helping others with every day life.
Maria is survived by her spouse of 75 years, Julian Lopez Villalon Sr.; her son Julian Lopez Jr.; her son Robert Lopez; and her daughter Juana Alicia L. Ortiz.
Maria was preceded in death by her daughter Rosemary Blackwell †, her daughter Maria Elena Garza Lopez † and her son Jose Francisco Lopez †; her mother Josefina Carrizalez † and her father Pablo Rodriguez †; her brother Aurelio Carrizalez †; her brother Alfonso Carrizalez †; her sister Concepcion Carrizalez † and her sister Enriqueta Espinoza †.
Also left to cherish her memory are 18 grandkids and 27 great grandkids.
A visitation for Maria will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 12:00 AM with a Rosary at 7:00pm in chapel of peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A continued visitation will occur Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 12:00 AM to 9:30 AM, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will occur Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1218 E Jefferson, Brownsville, Texas 78520. Followed by a burial at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
Serving as pallbearers are James, Shawn, Derek, Oscar, Marty, Emmanuel, George and B.J..
