David had a way of making anyone feel welcomed and valued. He was your number one supporter whenever you told him any great news. His presence illuminated the room with joy and laughter. David would introduce himself as "fat David", so you couldn't use that to insult him. He was always willing to help without anything in return. He enjoyed going to the beach and fishing with whomever that was willing to spend a couple of hours and enjoy a few beers. He wouldn't want you to cry, he would want you to remember him with a smile.
David is survived by his ex-wife, Silvia Sandoval; his sons David Gene Aguirre Jr (Nancy), Juan Aguirre, Guadalupe Aguirre, and Alejandro Lee Aguirre (Kathleen); his father Guadalupe Aguirre, his sister Melinda Ann Garcia (Armando). His granddaughters Giselle Aurelia Aguirre, Gabriela Guadalupe Aguirre, and Heather Luisa Aguirre. His two grandsons Javier Alberto Aguirre, and Bentley Aguirre.
David was preceded in death by his mother Dianna Cantu †, his aunts Virginia Aguirre † and Santos Aguirre †, his grandmothers Olivia Gonzalez † and Amelia Cantu †, his grandfathers Domingo Cantu † and Juan Aguirre†. His uncles Francisco Aguirre †, Celestino Aguirre †.
