Cynthia worked for 42 years as a teacher for Brownsville ISD, American School of Mogadishu; Somalia, Southern Peru Staff Schools, Damascus Community School; Syria, American Cooperative School of Tunis; Tunisia, International School of Beihai; China, and Dalian American International School; Dalian, China. She was an avid fan of The Beatles, disaster movies, and reading. She was well known for her love of camels and traveling. Cynthia loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, Joe Fred Perez; son Paul M. (Candace) Perez; and daughter Anita L. (Jared) Chism; sister Ruth M. Kulessa; grandchild Bella, grandchild Jonah, grandchild Dean, grandchild Bailey and grandchild Beckett.
Cynthia was preceded in death by father Chester Kulessa (†) and mother Lorraine B. Kulessa (†).
Serving as pallbearers are Paul Perez, Jonah Perez, Dean Perez, Jared Chism, Beckett Chism and Joe Fred Perez.
A visitation for Cynthia will be held Friday, January 29, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Research Foundation at www.curepsp.org or to a local food bank.
