She was preceded in death by her husband Hilario Perez †; her mother Julia Delgado Narvaez †; her sister Oralia de la Garza †; her brother Guadalupe de la Garza † and her adoptive parents Perfecto Gonzalez † and Angelita Gonzalez †.

Amelia is survived by her children Maria Luisa Herrera, Ignacio Perez (Olga) and Idalia Barrera; her grandchildren John Rodriguez and Ignacio Perez (Ana), her great grandchildren Michael McKnight, Vanessa Martinez and Monica Perez.

A visitation for Amelia will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at

6:00 PM and a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A chapel service will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 at 12:00 PM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Followed by a burial at 1:00 PM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.

Serving as pallbearers are Manuel Aguilar Jr., Omar Rodriguez, Jose De Jesus Vasquez, Christian Garza, Jonathan de la Garza and Joel Munguia.
