Rinehart, William David age 79 of Timber Pines, Spring Hill, died Sun., April 25, 2004 at Regional Medical Center, Bayonet Point. Born in Mansfield, OH he came here 12 years ago from Oakton, VA. He was a U.S. Army combat infantry soldier in WWII, having fought in France, Germany and the BAttle of the Bulge. He was a recipient fo the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He graduated with honors in 1949 from the University of Florida with a degree in Engineering and took post graduate courses at George Washington University. He was first employed as Chief Engineer and Press Designer at Wood Press Company and later by Hearst Newspapers as National Production Manager over their 22 newspapers. In 1960 he joined the American Newspaper Publisher Assoc. as Vice President/Technical in charge of their research lab which developed most of the new technology in use today, the industry training school and their international newspapers. He served extensively as an expert witness in numerous Congressional hearings, as well as agencies such as OSHA and the IRS. He also served in many court trials as an expert newspaper witness. He retired at the age of 70. He was a 52 year member of Solomon's Masonic Lodge, NJ, life member of the D.A.V. #67, Brooksville and the 94th Infantry Assoc. as was Protestant.He was predecesed in death by his wife of 56 years, Hilda. Survivors include his 2 Sons: David Rinehart of Orlando, FL and Richard Rinehart of Indianapolis, IN; 2 Daughters: Cathleen Rinehart of Redlands, CA and Elizabeth Rinehart of Cape Coral, FL; 5 Grandchildren and One Great Grandchild.Visitation for friends will be 6-8pm, Tues., April 27, 2004 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel. A military funeral service will be conducted 11am, Weds., April 28, 2004 at the Florida National Cemetery.
