John C. Bates Jr., 76, of Burnsville, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 4th, 2019 at his home. A native of Tampa, FL, he was a son of the late John C. Bates, Sr. and Ruth Heim Bates. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Fincannon Bates who passed away in 2001. He was a member of the Hernando Lodge #97 F&AM and Burnsville Lodge #717 AF&AM. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Johnson of Jasper, GA and several other extended family members.
A Graveside Service with Masonic Rites will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Brooksville Cemetery.
