Christine Whatley

She was born June 24, 1927 in Reading, PA, the daughter of William Singer and Marguerite Davis Singer. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Archie; her son, David; her brother, Donald; and her sisters, Gloria Weeks and Marilyn Renfroe.

Christine was a 1945 graduate of Hernando High School where she was a member of the basketball and baseball teams.

Christine is survived by her son, Richard (Ramona) Whatley of Brooksville; her daughter, Gayle (Woodrow) Coleman of Mount Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Stephen Whatley, Jennifer (Danny) Hansel, and Timothy (Desiree) Whatley; and great-grandchildren, Landon (8) and Delaina (6).

Christine was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Brooksville since 1941 and was wed there on December 21, 1947. She taught Sunday school for many years and served at the church’s outreach programs: Clothes Closet, Food Pantry, and many other ministries.

A Celebration of Christine’s life will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, February 19, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Brooksville. Burial will follow at Brooksville Cemetery.
