A Brooklyn native, Robert passed away peacefully at home at age 68. Educated at NYU, Stanford University and Warren Wilson College, Robert had a distinguished career in entertainment journalism spanning thirty years. His novel Car Trouble was published in 2018. Alongside his great love of literature, art, theater, and travel, Robert loved spending time with family and friends sharing stories and taking people on extended walking and cycling tours of his city. He will be remembered for his intellect, generosity, kindness, and uproarious sense of humor.
A beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Robert is survived by his mother Joan, sisters Eileen, Mary, Peggy, and Marion, brothers-in-law Rick, John, and Keith, nieces and nephews Michael, Siobhan, Elise, Ian, Derek, Natalie, and Alana.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens or Brooklyn Public Library, Central Library.
A visitation for Robert will be held on Wednesday August 23rd, 2023 from 2:00-5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at Joseph G. Duffy Funeral Home, 255 Ninth St, Brooklyn, NY 11215
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00am Thursday August 24th, 2023 at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church. 225 6th Ave Brooklyn, NY
