Marie Carmel Fusco (nee Meglio), born July 9,1915, passed away Thanksgiving day, November 26, 2015 at age 100. She was the devoted wife of the late Victor Fusco for over 62 years, the beloved mother of Mariann Hayes, Barbara Ward, the late Raymond Fusco, and Edward Fusco, grandmother to nine, and great grandmother to thirteen. She is also survived by one of her three wonderful sisters.
A special and elegant woman who devoted her life to her family and her faith, “Carmel” was especially talented at cooking and entertaining, and made all who entered her home feel welcomed, well-fed, and happy. She was a dedicated volunteer in her children’s schools and activities, and in the St. Savior’s Parish. She lived most of her life in Brooklyn and passed away in her home on Ninth Street in Park Slope, where she resided for over 60 years.
Visitation will be held at Duffy’s Funeral Home in Park Slope, Brooklyn, on Tuesday, December 1, from 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Savior’s Church at 611 8th Avenue at 9:30am, Wednesday, December 2, 2015, with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
