Jerry Castagliola

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and devoted community servant, Jerry Castagliola, passed away on November 10, 2024, at the age of 78. A lifelong resident of Brooklyn , New York, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service.

Beloved husband of Geraldine (nee: Alvarado) for 56 years. Dear father of Danielle & Dominick Tartaglia, Eric & Aidee Castagliola and Kris & Pamela Castagliola. Loving grandfather of Jeremy, Jillian, Ethan, Giana, Cameron, Veronica, Sofia and Jerry. Jerry also leaves behind many loving extended family members and a huge circle of friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Gennaro and Nancy Castagliola, his brother, Nickolas Castagliola and his sister, Lucille Castagliola.

Jerry led a life of exemplary distinguished service, retiring as Sergeant in the NYPD, where he served the people of New York for 21 years. He was an active honorary life member of the Samuel Cardinal Stritch Council of the Knights of Columbus where he enjoyed the fraternity and camaraderie with his brother knights. Jerry was also a dedicated usher at St. Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church.

Jerry's passion for the New York Mets and commitment to community service inspired countless lives. His 56 years of loving marriage to Geraldine served as a shining example of devotion and love. His love and dedication to family and faith were unparalleled. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through those he loved.

Rest in peace, Jerry. Your love, laughter, and service will forever be cherished.

A visitation for Jerry will be held Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the CUSIMANO & RUSSO FUNERAL HOME, 2005 West 6 Street, Brooklyn, NY 11223. Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday, November 15, 2024, 9:45 AM at St. Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, 185 Van Sicklen Street, Brooklyn, NY. Entombment to follow in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge, NJ.
