Sylvia Aronson Chavkin died September 23, 2023 in San Marcos, Texas at the age of 99. She lived in San Marcos Texas for the last five and a half years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilbert Chavkin. She was the devoted mother of Allan Richard Chavkin (Nancy Feyl Chavkin), Paula Ruth Lampe (Bruce John Lampe), loving grandmother of Laura Michelle Chavkin (Alex Aravanis) and great-grandmother of Anya and Theodore Aravanis. She also is survived by her brother Morton Aronson (Ellen Aronson), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sylvia was born May 25, 1924 in New York City. She lived in Boston for most of her life. At the age of 21 she married Gilbert Chavkin. She graduated from Boston University. Sylvia taught Hebrew school for many years and worked at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. She loved to travel and was passionate about playing bridge. She never let a Boston winter deter her from going to her bridge club.
Services will be graveside on Friday, September 29, at 9:00 a.m. at Lindwood Memorial Park, 497 North St., Randolph, MA.
