Robert C. Frank of Lincoln, on Friday, March 30, 2012. For 52 years beloved husband of Velma (Melcher) Frank. Cherished father of Hillary Pizer & her husband Steven, and Jonathan Frank & his wife Elizabeth Salsburg. Loving grandfather of Rebecca, Zachary, Cobi, and Talia. Dear brother in law of Marion Wasserman and brother of the late Lester Frank and Carol Weinraub. Devoted uncle to his nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. After attending Newton North High School, he received his B.S. in engineering at Tufts University. He served in the Counterintelligence Corps of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. As president of New England Door Corporation, Bob grew a small family business established by his father, Harold Frank, into an international distributorship of overhead garage doors. He was a resident of Lincoln, MA for 47 years and served on the Lincoln School Committee, the Board of Directors and President of the DeCordova Museum. He volunteered at the Family Resource Center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. He was an accomplished sailor and especially enjoyed sailing on Buzzards Bay with his grandchildren. As a photographer, Bob documented the time he spent with family and friends in great detail. His photography blended with a love of horticulture, and the result was albums of plant life as seen through his discerning eye. Bob enjoyed the progression from film to digital photography, educating himself in the latest technology. He enjoyed his greenhouse of exotic plants and flowers, and especially sharing his love of horticulture with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.
In his quiet manner, Bob was thoughtful, had an exceptional sense of humor, and was always interested in others. He had the unique quality of being able to relate to all who knew him, especially his family, lifelong college friends, colleagues, and employees. Bob will be missed dearly.
