Of Newton, died on March 17, 2022 at the age of 95. Born in Cambridge to Eva and Samuel Rothman, husband, to the love of his life for Sixty-five years, the late Ethel (Stoller) Rothman. He leaves behind his son Stuart Rothman and his wife Lisa, and grandchildren Jillian, Joshua and Jonah and his daughter Linda Robert and her husband Lewis, and grandchildren Jessica and Andrew. He was predeceased by his brothers Milton, Morris and David Rothman. He also leaves many dear nieces and nephews. A private burial was held on March 20, 2022.
George was a tenacious, strong willed, incredibly smart and a loving person. Those were the characteristics that carried him through his life as an incredible family man and a successful real estate entrepreneur. George built what is now First Cambridge Realty Corp. with nothing but sheer grit and perseverance. As a real estate holding, management and development company, George always said his greatest solace was that the company would become his legacy for his future descendants.
George was blessed with several years of extended life prevailing through medical issues in 2010. Those years became very special to his family and friends because George had an opportunity to capstone his life and also to become a significant mentor to his five grandchildren. The family want to give thanks to his caretakers, Grace Simmons and Herma Blake, Nurse Carol McTavish, Dr. David Liu, Dr. Eric Isselbacher, and especially Dr. Leslie Fang and his staff Terry, Judy and Donna.
