Hey there Bob/dad I hope heaven is treating you well! I just want to say I just miss you so much, and sorry I didn’t attend your service. Everyday I think about you and wish I would have visit Boston more as I gotten older. We shared a bond no one can take, you have grandchildren now, but before I was your first son you never had and you was my second dad but felt like my first dad am so many ways. It’s so funny how my 1st grad teacher “Marni” know as Ms.Zelnick took a kid back to her home to meet her family and became a part of their family.  I learned so much from you as kid from Chicago! You always took me golfing and you also taught me how to golf, l remember goin to (Boston University) BU games with you, hanging out in your office waiting for you to finish work so we can go out like always, and after we’ll get home and you and “Ma” Pam will make dinner or sometimes we’ll go out for dinner with “big sister” Eva and and her cool husband “Dan” and also sometimes my other big sister “Dara” lol I really remember all the great memories I have so many. Here’s a cool one ,I remember being the weather reporter for a day at Eva job at the NCBN station in Boston, I also never watched the tape I record as a kid still to this day I haven’t. Another story is when I peed the bed a few times and mama Pam was upset a little lol! But Bob you taught me so much about life as we had so many beautiful conversations when I was kid and I’m grateful for every moment of them and miss them so much I wish I can just have one conversation with you. 

But I was just stopping bye saying I love and miss you, and you will always be in my heart.

My condolences to the Zelnick family--

I worked with Bob at ABC, covering Congress and some dozen congressional and gubernatorial races across the country in the 1990's.  There never was a dull moment with Bob!  He had a good heart and cared about getting the story right.  There are many "Bob stories" I could jot down and send to his grand kids if I had a mailing address.  For now, I wanted to say I am sorry for your loss and I know how proud he was of his family( which has grown so much larger since we were last in touch a number of years ago.)

My condolences to the family of Bob Zelnick.  Met Bob at Newton Commonwealth Golf Course and had the pleasure to play golf with him several times. Someone at his service read from Ecclesiates 3  entitled "A Time for Everything". Yes I'll remember Bob in everything even a missed two foot putt!  He was a nice man and what a wonderful legacy that is.

Bob was a good reporter and consistently nice to other journalists, including me (I was younger and had a lot to learn from him on trips overseas). He was wise and cared a great deal about his work, and about carefully and intelligently chronicling important events in foreign affairs. And he made others wiser by telling the news in such a thoughtful way. RIP, Bob. Thanks for all you did.

A wonderful friend as well as a valued and admired colleague.  I'll treasure the times we shared baseball stories, and some great days on the golf course.  I'll always remember him with affection as well as respect.  My best wishes to the entire family, and all of the rest of us who will miss him.
