Dr. Alan D. Rothstein, age 85 of Brookline, died on Friday May 13th, 2016. A life long Brookline resident. Raised by his loving grandparents Barnett and Katie Rothstein and by his aunt and uncle, Esta and Charlie Wolf with their children, Ronald and Bob Wolf. He was a graduate of Tufts University and Tufts Medical School and a US Army veteran. As a retired psychiatrist, he practiced at Boston State Hospital, Mystic Valley Clinic, Newton Wellesley Hospital and at his home office for over 50 years of dedicated service.
His family was the center of his life. Lovingly married for 62 years to Natalie (Manson) Rothstein. He was the devoted father to his children and their spouses, Peter Rothstein and CC Cave; Steven Maze Rothstein and Susan Maze-Rothstein; Katie Paikin and David Paikin. He also loved his grandchildren Galen Maze-Rothstein; Megan Crowe-Rothstein and her husband Shafaq Islam; Jessye Crowe-Rothstein and her husband Kirk Shirley; Leah McInnis and her husband Brad McInnis; Adam Paikin and Isaac Maze-Rothstein.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, May 15 at Levine’s Chapel, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline followed by interment at the Walnut Hills Cemetery, 96 Grove St., Brookline. Immediately following friends and family are invited to his late residence for visiting until 7:00 pm. Visiting hours will also be on Monday, May 16 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
