Desiree Aurora Silva

July 20, 1991 – November 14, 2023

With heavy hearts, we announce that Desiree Aurora Silva passed away in Austin, TX, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the age of 32. She was the beloved daughter of Adam Silva and Cynthia Gee-Silva and the cherished eldest granddaughter of Elaine Gee. Desiree was predeceased by her paternal grandmothers Rebecca Manzo and Aurora Prado and by her maternal grandfather Carl A. Gee. She is deeply missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends as well.

Desiree was born on July 20, 1991, in Whittier, CA. At age 11, she and her family moved to Brookfield, WI, where she attended St. Dominic’s Elementary School and Brookfield East High School. She graduated from the University Lake School in Hartland where she participated in track, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and theater. She also began swimming as an infant, going on to become a junior lifeguard. After graduation, Desiree studied at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) in Milwaukee. She used her artistic talents to start her own jewelry design business, “Moonchild Designs.” After living in Milwaukee, Desiree moved to Denver, CO, and then on to Austin, TX. She settled in Austin, where she continued to showcase her many artistic talents, creating unique jewelry and acting as a professional make-up artist for photo shoots. Her final position was as a successful manager at Coconut Club.

In addition to her creative pursuits, Desiree held many passions, including her dachshund mix Taquito. She had a special love for music, particularly enjoying live bands and concerts. She was a free spirit and enjoyed traveling overseas, including to Amsterdam, Germany, Italy, Spain, France and Budapest. Twice she took extended trips overseas on her own; she was fearless and independent. Desiree also looked forward to spending time with her cherished family and many dear friends. Her love and generosity knew no bounds, and her smile and laugh brought light and sunshine to the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Desiree’s life on Thursday, December 28, 2023. Visitation will be at 1pm at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield. A memorial service celebrating Desiree’s life will follow at 2PM. A reception to immediately follow.
