
Firefighter,Grandfather and Father Figure. Three words I can use to describe my hero,icon and idol. For 81 years you changed countless lives and my own perspective on the world we live in. From September 17th 2005 up until September 20th 2018 you’ve been in my life grandpa; but even though you are no longer physically here with me I’ll always feel your presence and remember you as you live in my heart. I know that I’ll never be George Dallas, but I want to live up to your expectations for me and try to fill your shoes. You were and always will be a family man, and I aspire to do the same. You wished me success and I hope to achieve it to not only make family proud but also for the man who guided me along the way “My Grandpa”. And during those rough times I’ll have you telling me “Don’t worry everything will be fine”. You were a firefighter to some, family to others but a legend to me. you will always will be loved by all. 


I wish to express my condolence's to the Dallas Family for the loss of George. My name is Larry Brigati and my father Larry worked with George during his time with the FDNY at Engine 79/ Ladder 37.  I meet George many times thru my father and the many gatherings they had while both firefighters.  He always had a smile on his face and was working on the cars for all the firemen in his off time at Franks garage when it was on Jerome Avenue.  I went on the job in 1982 and missed working with both George and my father but all the guys who were still there and worked with both of them had nothing but the best to say about them.  I have a picture of a large group of the guys who came up to my parents new house when we moved up to Cold Spring in Putnam County back in the 70's and George is sitting right in the middle with  the biggest smile as he always had on his face. Just last week I was with Jay Moylan and Charley Egan both retired from the firehouse and they were talking about George and many of the other GUY"S from 79/37.  Sorry for your loss he was a great friend to all those who knew him and worked with him.
