Nancy C. Griffin

Nancy C. Griffin age 67, born April 1st, 1951, passed away suddenly on Thursday January 3th, 2019. She was preceded in death by her father George Allen Griffin Jr. and her mother Dixie G. Griffin as well as her long time furry friend, Rosie.

Nancy is survived by her sister Deborah (Debbie) Griffin. Nancy was devoted to God and her family and she was loved by all. Nancy was born in Nashville, TN and graduated from Stratford high school in 1969. She graduated from George Peabody college in 1973 with a BS in Business Administration. Nancy enjoyed a 45 year career in banking and the financial industry. She was employed by Suntrust Bank for many years. Nancy was the first vice president at Suntrust Bank. C/B Treasury Management Sales, Treasury and Payment Solution.

She received many recognitions in her long career including; 2016 Gold Performance, and she was an Excellent Award Winner. Prior to Suntrust, Nancy worked at Bank of America and First American Bank. She enjoyed building relationships and serving her clients was her passion.

Nancy attended Woodmont Baptist Church for several years. She attended the Grace Sunday school class and the morning worship service. Nancy had a flair for cooking and entertaining and was enjoyed by her friends and family. She was a devoted sister and loved her family and God was the center of her life. She will truly be missed. Pallbearers will be Thomas Gatlin, Mike Nicholson, Eddie Chiscalm, Ron Frost, David Richardson, Doug Hennard, Ralph Demarco. Honorary Pallbearers – Dr. and Mrs. Newton Griffin, Sandra Benedict, Sharon Helton, Kathy Meadows, James and Pat McClary, Vanessa Hemmen, Patricia Collier, Bunny Sharpton, Pat Walker, and the Grace Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Nashville Rescue Mission and American Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.
