Jean Dison Sumner, a near life-long resident of Nashville, TN lately of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully with family at her side on June 12, 2024. A talented singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter, hers was a life of music. She spent years traveling extensively in the US and performing with many of the greats of country music along the way, including on the Grand Ole Opry. After retiring from the music industry, she performed regularly for many years in churches around the Nashville area and found her greatest joy through sharing her musical profession of faith with others. Though her earthly song has ended, may her voice ring out in multitudes of melodies yet unsung.
Jean was preceded in death by her brother Glenn Harvey, and sister Carole Thompson. She is survived by son Terry Dison and daughter Kristi Dison Thompson of Nashville, TN, son Jake Sumner of Knoxville, as well as her grandchildren Erich Dison, Bradley and Brandon Elkins, and Beckett Sumner.

Interment will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Lane Nashville, TN 37204 on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 1:00 O'Clock in the Afternoon.
