He attended public school in the Washington, DC area. As a baby, he was christened at Lane Methodist Church in Northeast, DC.
Robert departed this life on Thursday, January 25, 2018. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Banks, and several other family members. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother and father, Gloria and Robert Douglas, Sr.; his loving brother, Shahn; his favorite auntie, Barbara Douglas; his granddad, Ruben Banks, Sr.; cousins, nieces, nephews; neighbors and many childhood friends.
Robert ("B"), Shahn's brother, was full of life, energy, love and humor. He was always there to help whenever he could. He was a loving son and devoted brother all his life. He loved his mother and brother very much and with his big loving heart, family always came first. Robert was an avid lover of football (Dallas Cowboys), but enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, especially, wrestling, and talking about political events. His hobbies were gardening, planting tomatoes, peppers and flowers. He always complained in the beginning, but loved the results of his hard work. He was not trained, but had this strong knack for taking things apart, but repairing them better than they were before.
"B" will forever be in our HEARTS and forever LOVED and forever MISSED.
GOD SAW THE ROAD WAS GETTING ROUGH, THE HILL WAS HARD TO CLIMB; HE GENTLY CLOSED THOSE LOVING EYES, AND WHISPERED, "PEACE BE THINE". THE WEARY HOURS, THE DAYS OF PAIN, THE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS ARE PASSED; THE EVER PATIENT, WORN-OUT FRAME, HAS FOUND SWEET REST AT LAST.
