Mary M. Patton, 81, of Greenbelt, MD, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at her home. Mary was born on July 8, 1937, in Washington, DC. She was the daughter of the late Marvin G. and Mary Louise Barber.
Mary graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in Bethesda, MD in 1955. She was employed with Bresler and Reiner as a Property Manager and later at the Quality Inn at Andrews Air Force Base as the Administrator.
Mary was most happy spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her most memorable times were at the beach and at Christmas. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow into young adults and reach for their goals; she cherished every moment with them.
She is survived by her five children: Dawn Patton of Laurel, MD, Deborah Fout of Odenton, MD, Donna Willett of Pasadena, MD, Dale Mattia and husband, Mike Mattia of Accokeek, MD, and Douglas Patton and wife, Lenize Patton, of Jacksonville, NC. Mary has 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722 at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Douglas Patton will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation in her memory.
